Java Beach At The Zoo

Great coffee and a truly energizing experience. I stopped by Java, asked a few questions about the coffee, tried their recommendation — and it genuinely woke me up in the best way. You can tell they care about quality and know what they’re serving. The place has a very cool, relaxed San Francisco vibe — cozy, atmospheric, and authentic. Perfect spot to reset, think, or just enjoy a really good cup of coffee. Definitely coming back.

Got an affogato - vanilla ice cream with a shot of espresso - for a cool refresher on a warm spring day, it was delicious! They have parkings on the side of the road, restroom and seating inside and some outside. Pretty nice cozy looking place. 2nd visit I got myself an americano with honey and a plain bagel with salmon + tip - $25 - it was delicious and coffee was pretty good. Cozy environment quiet and peaceful.

I was here a year ago. The cafe itself is quiet and cozy, especially at 8 in the morning, as there were only a few people. But it could house up to probably six families of four to six, if need be. The food itself is really good, well made and well served. I was surprised by just how large their sandwiches were, but then again, I'm not used to American sized food portions. My qualm actually lies with the pricing, as it's rather expensive (to me at least) at almost $16 a sandwich. And my hot chocolate drink was almost $6, but that's more forgiving. IIRC, there's no Wi-Fi here and cellular reception is just enough for regular calls and text. So it may transport you back in time, which was nice, personally. I can't speak for parking; I walked here. But it being across the zoo and next to the beach is nifty. Segway-ing to its restroom; it's roomy, clean, and well equipped. Lastly, the cafe and the packaging its food comes in do have a lot of character and are quite memorable.

Java Beach Café by the zoo is a hidden gem for families! It’s the perfect spot to grab a quick bite, enjoy a good coffee, or treat yourself to a pastry. The best part? It’s incredibly kid- and baby-friendly. They have plenty of high chairs, booster seats, and even a bathroom with a changing table—which makes all the difference when you’re out with little ones. A lifesaver after a morning at the zoo!
